LED walls: what to ask before you book one

An LED wall is the most visible thing at your event, which means when it goes wrong it goes wrong publicly. Almost every failure we get called to fix was avoidable a week earlier.

First question: indoor or outdoor? Panels specified for a conference hall will disappear in Kampala daylight. Tell your supplier the environment before anything else.

Second: what resolution is the content? A wall is not a TV — it has a native pixel dimension, and a logo exported for Instagram will look like a mosaic on it.

Third: who is operating it during the show? A wall with nobody on the processor is a wall showing a frozen slide while the MC talks over it.

Fourth: how is it rigged? Ground-stacked and flown builds have completely different requirements, timelines and costs.

Fifth: what is the power situation? LED walls draw real current, and venue circuits in the region are not always what the venue thinks they are.

Ask those five before you sign anything. Any supplier who cannot answer them clearly is going to learn the answers on your event.
